Publicité: Seat auto emocion THE SUMO SURFER (Teahupoo, Tahiti, Polynésie française)

To shoot the surfing scenes, the team faced the challenge of delivering an ad showing a 150-kilogram Sumo wrestler nimbly navigating a perfect barrel. It was decided that infamous Teahupoo in Tahiti was the right venue because "it offered us the best chance to get a big guy in a barrel". Of course, every crew member was a surfer and, naturally, most Wavescape

Five cameras and numerous underwater housings were used to shoot two stunt surfers in the water, and an actor for the beach scenes.

Tahitian surfing celebrity Raimana Von Bastolear wore a South African-made "fat" suit. The other surfer was professional stunt surfer Shawn Briley, a naturally big guy who had to wear a Mawashi (nappy worn by sumos), a wig, and have his skin darkened and body hair removed.

Due to the obvious difficulty of paddling into the waves, the guys were towed in.
